I have posted two samples for you on the side. One is a template that you can use to create your own resume. You don't have to follow the format exactly, but try not to go too crazy. The other is a fictional resume for someone who has no work experience and no formal volunteer experience....but there's still lots of stuff on it. Check it out!
Today you'll begin working on your own resume. A rough draft will be due on Friday. I will let you know what needs more work, and we will continue with a good copy after the unit test.

Upcoming dates!
A couple of dates to keep in mind:
Post-secondary terms quiz on Friday March 19th.
Test on Tuesday March 30th - to cover goalsetting, time management, career planning, personality and values, post-secondary, and labour market.
I've updated the Handouts link on the side - post secondary terms is the one you need to know for Friday.

Back to school
No posts in awhile!
We've been up to a few things. You should have submitted your Personality and Career powerpoint by now. I will be sorting out interviews throughout the week; expect to get called up at some point if you haven't yet gone.
Today we looked at time management - thinking about how we really spend our time, and whether we spend time doing the things we really care about. If you haven't already, please write down what you think is a typical day for you. We'll be comparing it to the best record you can create of what you actually do with your time.
I announced an important date today: there will be a test on Tuesday, March 30, covering the work we've done so far. It will include:
-goal setting and time management
-personality and values
-career planning
-post-secondary options
-graduation requirements
I'll give you more details once we get closer to the date. It will place more emphasis on skills (can you create an effective goal, do you have your own graduation plan, can you connect career goals with values) than memorization.
